Beef Processing
Harvesting Fee: $300
Processing Fee: $1.50/lb of the hanging weight(no head/hide/guts)
Processing includes 10-14 days dry aging and vacuum sealed/labeled product.
Additional $50 per split if 1 beef is being separated into more than 2 orders.
Pig Processing
Harvesting fee: $200
Processing fee: $1.75/lb hanging weight (includes smoked products)
Additonal $50 per split if 1 pig is being separated into more then 2 orders.
FAQ's
What is the hanging weight?
Hanging weight refers to how much a carcass weighs after the head/guts and hide have been removed.
How much meat do I get back?
What you can yield for edible meats from an animal can vary. The industry standard for beef (a meat breed raised to <24months of age) is usually 50-60% of the hanging weight. It is a similar yield for other meat animals. The yield can also vary if there is a request for lean burger or a lot of boneless cuts.
Can I resale?
No. Custom meat processing refers to the individual receiving the finished product "owned" the animal when it was live. In order to resale your product as individual cuts it would need to be USDA killed and processed. If you are planning on selling a share of your beef to someone, the brand inspection performed prior to processing, should include the names of all parties expected to receive the end product.
What do I need to pick up my meat?
A vehicle! Your product will be frozen, packed and placed in cardboard boxes to make the transportation process easier for you. No need to bring your own boxes or ice chests(unless your traveling for more then a few hours)
